Bulkrite is a leading commercial bodybuilder specializing in the design and manufacture of wide range of bodies to suit both rigid and articulated commercial vehicles. We deal with trucks from all of the major manufacturers and offer a truly bespoke service to ensure your new body is a perfect match to your businesses requirements.

Located on our site near Shrewsbury in Shropshire since the mid 1970’s, our experience in the field of body fabrication is second to none. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive repair and maintenance service, often on a while-you-wait basis, to ensure your vehicle can be back in service as quickly and economically as possible should repairs be necessary.

We also fit new hydraulic wet kits, sheeting systems and all other body related equipment to new and existing vehicles and regularly remount bodies from older vehicles on to new chassis’.

A proud history

Bulkrite was founded in 1978 by father and son Fred and Andrew Davies, growing out of a long-established transport company whose origins stretch back to the late 1920’s.

The business relocated to its current location shortly after it was formed, taking over the site from JH Thorne and Son, who were themselves renowned commercial vehicle body builders.

Unsurprisingly with such a long history and the combined experience of the two businesses, Bulkrite have become the go-to business for the construction of a wide variety of body types for vehicles from all the major truck manufacturers. From tippers to bulk blowers and one-off bespoke bodies to livestock containers, Bulkrite has built a reputation for quality and reliability that is second to none.

Part of the Greenhous Group

Recently acquired from its original owners, Bulkrite now also benefits form being part of the Greenhous group of companies, a major DAF dealer group, the origins of which also stretch back to the early 20thcentury.
